March 21, 2024
12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Dear UFV Community,

Are you currently involved in the essential field of antiracism work? Are you conducting praxis-oriented research with the goal of dismantling racial discrimination? UFV’s Race and Antiracism Network (RAN), in collaboration with the UFV’s Scholarly Sharing Initiative (SSI), invites you to participate in our annual observance of the 'International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination' on March 21.

This event provides a unique platform to spotlight and amplify your contributions to our university's ongoing journey toward becoming an anti-racist institution. Your work is integral in fostering an inclusive environment that not only values diversity but actively combats racial discrimination.

How to Participate: We welcome submissions from UFV staff, faculty and students. If you are involved in antiracism work or praxis-oriented research, we encourage you to share your valuable insights and experiences with the broader community. You will have the opportunity to present either by Zoom or in-person for 15-20 minutes with facilitated discussions and Q&A at the end of all presentations.

Submission Guidelines: Please submit a title and a brief description of your work and its action-oriented relevance (one to two paragraphs) to [email protected] by the deadline of February 19.

Why Participate:
Community Engagement: Foster a sense of community by sharing your experiences and insights with fellow UFV members.
Contribute to UFV’s Anti-Racist Agenda: Your participation aligns with our collective effort to build a university culture that actively opposes racism.

You are an integral part of our university's ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable learning and working environment. Thank you for your commitment to this important cause. We look forward to your contribution.

Sincerely,

UFV Race and Antiracism Network (RAN)
